“I wear a mask. And that mask, it's not to hide who I am, but to create what I am.” – Batman #624

As a child of the 80s and 90s, I grew up idolizing my comic book heroes through comics, TV, and movies. My connection to these characters has never wavered as I’ve grown up. I love what the heroes stand for, the hope they provide, and how they continue to inspire. As the Batman quote illustrates, these comics not only allowed me escapism, but also created who I am.

I still vividly remember getting my Nintendo for Christmas when I was 8. The following week I spent playing Super Mario Bros. and Zelda. These games ignited a love for video games that I still have to this day. Now my favorite games include Uncharted, The Last of Us, Bioshock, Journey, and more. Video games are telling amazing stories today and have provided me with some of the most emotional experiences of my life.

Few individuals have molded me as much as Walt Disney. Watching movies like Aladdin, Lion King, Pater Pan, and the Pixar Movies have had a huge impact on me. Visiting Disney World throughout my childhood allowed me to escape into Walt’s worlds and experience the movies and stories in a whole new way. I am and will always be a Disney fan and will never forget that truly magical feeling of walking down Main Street excited for the day that lies ahead.

What I hope to accomplish with my blog is to provide thought provoking and meaningful discussion through a detailed look at comics, television shows, movies, and video games. They have provided me such joy over the years and created who I am. I can only hope to pass this joy on to others through my site.
